The Kamloops Storm will have a new man behind the bench for the 2012-13 KIJHL season.
The junior B Storm announced Wednesday that Brad Priestlay, an assistant coach for the past two seasons, will take over as head coach. Geoff Smith guided the team to a 35-10-1-6 record last season.
According to a press release, Smith’s work commitments at Highland Valley Copper won’t allow him to coach a second season, so Priestlay will take over.
Priestlay, a Kamloops native, played junior with the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers and WHL’s Portland Winterhawks before playing at Lakeland University in Thunder Bay, Ont.
