Interior Health Authority has issued a request for proposals to design a clinical building and parkade at Royal Inland Hospital.

The $80-million project was announced by Premier Christy Clark earlier this month.

Documents on B.C. Bid show in addition to the parkade to hold 350 cars, the building will house cardiology/neurology, community respiratory, outpatient services, academic areas for the hospital’s proposed residency program and commercial retail.

The project is slated to start construction in April next year.

Interior Health Authority called the RFP for the design a first step that will look at space requirements. It will also look more closely at which outpatient services will be located in the new building.

The design contract is expected to be awarded in September.
