I don't live in Aberdeen so I don't have strong opinions on the 58-unit strata project for Aberdeen that City council approved Tuesday night.
It won't affect my health, my walks, my taxes, my friends or my grandchildren. Clearly it'll affect those who oppose or support the proposed strata project.
Hopefully it's a beginning step to raising awareness in Aberdeenians. Perhaps they can make a connection with what is happening in their backyard and what is planned on the other side of the fence.
Will they see the wisdom of learning about a little bit bigger project considered for their neighbourhood — the proposed Aberdeen Ajax Mine?
Beginning steps are important whether learning to walk or to get involved in one's city. I wish my neighbours all the best as they decide what kind of Aberdeen they would like for their grandchildren.
