Man's description of violence puts him back in jail

A man who described in detail thoughts of violence against his ex-girlfriend’s parents is back in jail, accused of breaching the terms of his bail.

Shane Adam, 22, is charged with uttering threats. He was arrested after he told a mental health worker July 25 he thought of hurting his ex-girlfriend’s parents.

The worker asked for details and Adam said he thought about going to their house, bear-spraying the dad and beating him up, harming the mother and seeing the terror in his ex-girlfriend’s eyes.

Adam added he blamed the ex-girlfriend’s parents for preventing him from seeing his daughter.

The Crown opposed Adam’s release from jail but the judge released the man Wednesday on strict conditions. He was arrested late Thursday after he was found two blocks away from his house at a time when he was supposed to be inside.

He will stay in jail until at least Tuesday, when it’s expected he will appear in court again.
