Let the tour begin

The partially completed Exhibition Galleries at the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel will be highlighted during the Columbia Basin Trust regional cultural tour Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12. Pictured above, in one of the two galleries available, are local artists ManWoman (left), Dorial Davis (centre) and Sharon Routley, who are assisting the set up of a selection of local art. Joseph Cross is also participating. In the adjacent gallery, local historian Jim Cameron will have some of his "Janus" before-and-after views, and the museum will be displaying a few objects from its Cranbrook collection. These temporary exhibits are intended to show what the galleries can do and what they will look like. The Fire Department has given special permission for public access to two of the five galleries for the CBT weekend event, so people can come and go as they please. Come down to the museum between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the weekend to see something new about Cranbrook history, art and much more. Admission is free.
