Acacia Schmietenknop will represent Kamloops in the run for Miss B.C. this weekend in Merritt.
A former Miss Kamloops, 20-year-old Schmietenknop competes against 12 other young women from across the province Friday and Saturday.
The pageant includes two speeches, talent performances and an intense three-hour exam on B.C. history and facts.
Schmietenknop plans to sing and play Etta James' At Last on piano as her talent.
She is entering her third year in business administration at TRU in the fall.
The judges will choose the Miss B.C. winner, but Kamloops residents can help Schmietenknop win the Peoples Choice award and a $1,000 scholarship by voting online at www.bcambassador.com/peoples-choice-ambassador.
