An Abbotsford woman in her mid-20s is dead after apparently falling asleep at the wheel and crashing while not wearing a seatbelt.
Shortly before 6 a.m., Clearwater RCMP received a call of a single vehicle accident on Highway 5 in Vavenby.
Investigators determined Jenny Terese Klassen of the Mount Lehman area of Abbotsford fell asleep, swerved across the northbound lane and left the highway, landing in the ditch.
The driver, who was catapulted from the vehicle, was found dead at the scene of the accident and her two passengers were transported to Clearwater Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
