Summer officially comes to an end today as about 14,000 boys and girls head back to school.
All elementary and secondary classes begin at 10:30 a.m. with the exception of kindergarten students. Parents are asked to contact their child's school for details.
Classes begin at Brocklehurst middle school at 10:30 a.m., for Grade 7 orientation.
No other grades are required to attend today.
All students are expected to be at Brock for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Grade 8 students are expected at Sa-Hali secondary for 8:30 a.m. while students in grades 9 to 12 are required to arrive at noon.
All elementary schools dismiss at noon and secondary schools let out at 3 p.m. Rural secondary schools conclude the day at 12:30 p.m.
Drivers are reminded that young students will be excited to be back in class or attending school for the first time. That means drivers need to slow down and abide by school zones, with 30 km/h speed limits in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Police will be extra vigilant at school crossings during stepped up enforcement this week.
