A carwash worker was uninjured Saturday night after coming face to face with an armed thief.
At around 9:15 p.m., a Kozyclean employee interrupted a man who had broken into the business's office at Versatile Drive near Hugh Allan Drive.
The man, who was wearing a scarf around his face, was trying to pry open the cash register with a knife.
When the worker approached, the thief threatened him and warned him to stay back.
The thief was able to get the cash out of the box and jumped into the passenger side of a light green Ford F350 with tan pin striping over the wheel wells driven by another man.
Police later found a similar truck in Aberdeen, which had previously been reported stolen. As of Sunday afternoon, the truck hadn't been conclusively linked to the robbery, according to the RCMP.
The robber is described as scruffy and stocky, between five feet eight inches and five feet 11 inches tall, wearing blue jeans and a dark coat.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 1-222-888-TIPS.
