The Kamloops Storm erased a 2-0 lead with four unanswered goals and beat the Princeton Posse 4-2 in a KIJHL exhibition game played at the Brocklehurst Recreation Centre on Tuesday night.
The Posse took an early 2-0 lead, with one of the goals coming from Riley Harder, a 16-year-old from Lillooet.
The Storm roared back with goals from Josh Rasmussen, Jason Anderson, Taylor Ward and Spencer Schoech. Brett Watkinson and Tyson Harvey each had two assists.
Schoech, a 19-year-old defenceman, is from Dublin, Calif. He had been in camp with the BCHL’s Prince George Spruce Kings.
“He’s a kid that has a ton of ability but it’s a huge learning curve for him,” Spruce Kings head coach Dave Dupas told the Prince George Citizen. “He has all the physical tools but he has to learn to play at this level.”
The Storm next plays on Thursday when the Chase Heat visits the Brocklehurst Recreation Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Kamloops is scheduled to open the regular season on Sept. 14 against the Spokane Braves at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre.
