PNE Prize Home winner not sure about moving to Sun Peaks

Richmond woman says she's 'in shock'

PNE prize home winner Marnie Odette of Richmond appears impressed as she tours her new property with designer Jillian Harris in Vancouver.

A Richmond woman has won the PNE Prize Home, but she has yet to decide whether she will move to Sun Peaks.

Marie Odette, an equity trader, was announced the 2012 winner of the PNE prize home, with the winning number 32370529.

“I’m in shock,” were her first words to media.

With it, Odette was given the $1.296 million, 3,000 square foot prize home, which will be moved to Sun Peaks in the next month. It’s a long way from her Richmond home in Steveston, which she’s currently paying off the mortgage for, but Odette said that she doesn’t know what she’ll do with it yet.

“It’s a beautiful home. I’ll have to think about it . . . it’s overwhelming,” said Odette, who was picked up in a limousine at her home before being whisked away to see her winnings.

Designed by former ABC Bachlorette Jillian Harris, the home, built by Britco Structures, has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a sauna, sprawling decks and 20-foot ceilings.

But for Odette, the thing she was most looking forward to was seeing it in person.

“I haven’t seen in yet,” she said. “Just the pictures.”

Odette will also receive a $2,500 grocery package from IGA, a year’s worth of MiniMaid housecleaning and a one-year subscription to The Province.
