On Sept. 1, we lost our mother, grandmother and friend Leora McNeill. Her last days were spent under the exceptional care of the Kamloops Seniors Village. Through trying times and circumstances, the staff cared for Leora with undeniable dignity, compassion and respect.
Her last days, shared with immediate family, were memorable ones and will be cherished thanks greatly to accommodating and caring staff that rose above duty and expectation.
In a sometimes unkind and unjust world, we find solace in the kindness and giving spirit in those that help others and truly care about what they do. We could all learn the importance of a kind word, a gesture or a listening ear that brightens another person’s day. The kind of caring our mother and my family experienced.
The world is a better place because these people are in it.
For that we are truly grateful.
