Kamloops RCMP are investigating a suspicious car fire that happened early Saturday morning.
Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said police were called to an alley in the 400 block of Alexander Avenue at around 2 a.m., where a parked 2002 grey, Ford Focus was engulfed.
Kamloops Fire and Rescue managed to put out the fire.
RCMP brought in a police dog in an attempt to track possible culprits, "but the dog was unsuccessful in locating any movement of anyone in and around the vehicle," added Learned.
The car's owner said the vehicle was parked in the alley since 4 p.m. on Friday.
"At some point they heard a loud, pop sound and they came out to investigate and found the vehicle fully engulfed," said Learned.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
So far, police are considering the blaze suspicious.
