Alleged Kamloops heroin dealer denied bail

A Kamloops man charged with trafficking and possession of 502 grams of heroin valued at $100,000 will remain in custody.

Judge Sheri Donegan denied a bail application for 43-year-old Guljit Singh on Monday. The reasons for her decision cannot be disclosed due to a publication ban.

RCMP found the drugs Wednesday after a raid on an Aberdeen hotel room.

Singh's next court appearance is set for Sept. 24.

Correction: Guljit Singh was not on trial for trafficking heroin. Instead, the 43-year-old man was in provincial court seeking bail, after being arrested on drug charges following an RCMP search at a Kamloops motel earlier in the week.
