The TRU WolfPack took three of four games from the Douglas Royals in a weekend of exhibition baseball in New Westminster.
The WolfPack opened the weekend with a Saturday sweep, winning 7-5 and 5-3.
Jake Hein earned the victory in the opener, pitching the final three innings after starter Wataru Asaoka struck out five over four innings. TRU’s John Apostolo had two hits, including a double, a stolen base and an RBI, and Luc Simpson had a double and two RBI.
Ryan Rogers struck out 11 over five innings in the second game. Apostolo struck out the side in the last inning to pick up the save.
Brent Carmichael, who had two hits, and Cam Strachan drove in runs for TRU.
The WolfPack took Sunday’s first game, 3-1. Brendan Miller pitched five innings of four-hit ball, before Frank Fisico went the final four innings.
Dave Hole hit a double and drove in a run, and Reid Flasch and Erik Herbanson each scored runs.
The Royals won the final game of the weekend, 13-0. Mike Riddle took the loss, Evan Douglas had two singles and Cody Pendergast stroked a double.

For the second week in a row, the WolfPack finished seventh at a Pacific Western Athletic Association golf tournament.
TRU, which was seventh at the season-opening tournament at The Dunes on Sept. 8-9, was seventh at Surrey’s Hazelmere Golf and Country Club on the weekend.
The WolfPack finished with a two-day total of 640. The Camosun Chargers won the team title after scoring 593.
Chase Broadfoot was TRU’s top individual, going 77-76 to tie for 15th. Blake Gozda (79-77) tied for 21st, and Nick Corno (77-83) was 28th.
Camosun’s Jerrod Cailback went 72-74 to win the individual title.
WolfPack golfers Sean Cameron (81-86), Bobby Armstrong (86-86) and Reegan Czar (87-86) also took part in the tournament.
TRU’s Natasha MacKenzie finished fifth among women after shooting 91-81. Kali Gordon of the Vancouver Island Mariners took low female honours after shooting 85-76.
The next conference event is Sept. 29-30 in Nanaimo.
