A few years ago there was a certain outlying service station that was usually a few cents cheaper than in town.

One day as I was planning to head that way I wondered if their price was lower that day as it wasn’t always. I picked up the phone to see if that was the case and was informed that they weren’t allowed to give out the price on the phone, some law or other yada yada.

Recently on the day before Labour Day I heard on a news broadcast that the price of gas was sure to drop right after Labour Day. They had inside info apparently. This never happened.

Two days ago, also on a news broadcast, we were informed that for absolutely certain the price of fuel in Kamloops was set to drop five cents a litre as of midnight. Again, this never happened. It did however drop by one cent. Silly me I risked running out by waiting for it and very nearly did.

Since when did (stations) begin reporting their fantasies instead of delivering fact based news reports?

If they believe that they are, then perhaps they will reveal their sources next time. Do they not care that they are coming off even less credible than they already are?
