Prolific criminal once again on the lam

    Barrie Quirt Friesen

A prolific criminal is once again on the lam after being nabbed last March for fleeing from a Kamloops halfway house in January.

Ridge Meadows RCMP is now on the lookout for 53-year-old Barrie Quirt Friesen for allegedly stealing a car in Pitt Meadows while being wanted on a Canadawide warrant.

Friesen, who has used several aliases including Bailey Danes, has been convicted 88 times, including violent crimes involving a loaded weapon against individuals and family members.

He also has drug-related offences and a history of stealing vehicles, drunk driving and taking financial advantage of others.

Friesen is now accused of stealing a silver 2005 Honda Civic with B.C. licence plate number 239 RPG on it at the time of the theft.

He is described as a white male, five feet nine inches tall, 177 pounds with brown and gray hair and blue eyes. He has several tattoos, the more noticeable of which are the name "Katrina" on his left wrist, a panther on his right upper arm, a dagger and snake on his right forearm, the name "Cindy" with flowers on the left forearm and the words "City of Angels" on his left wrist.

"Police believe he is travelling alone," states an RCMP press release. "But Friesen is very convincing and can befriend innocent people quickly, targetting women."

Anyone spotting Friesen is advised not to approach him, but to contact the police agency in that jurisdiction or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.bccrimestoppers.com.
