Chamber music series begins with performance by string quartet

The Daily News Chamber Music series kicks of the 2012-2013 season Tuesday night with one of the world’s finest string quartets, the Kamloops Symphony’s general manager said Monday.

“This is one of the most distinguished ensembles in chamber music today,” said Kathy Humphreys.

The Fine Arts Quartet, now celebrating its 66th anniversary, performs at the Calvary Community Church on Rogers Way starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $24 at the door.

The program includes string quartets by composers Dmitri Shostakovich and Claude Debussy as well as a string quartet by Franz Schubert to be performed with the addition of guest cellist Eric Wilson.
