Brennan Creek residents will have a say in the fate of the area’s now empty elementary school.
School trustees voted in favour of holding a community meeting at the school on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
Karl deBruijn, an assistant superintendent with the Kamloops-Thompson School District, said the school is a standing structure built on a foundation and can’t be moved.
He said residents might have a use for the building, so administrators would like to hear their input. In the past, rural schools have been used as community centres or daycare.
He said the last two students are now enrolled in kindergarten at Barriere elementary and Grade 7 at Haldane elementary in Chase.
