Of course 'River'side Park would be the natural location for World Rivers Day this Saturday.
The annual celebration is taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is free for all who turn out.
The event includes not-for-profit agency and business booths, including B.C. Hydro, B.C. Wildlife Park, Bear Aware, Kamloops Museum and Archives, Thompson Rivers University and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
But wait, there's more. Just Like That is providing the music, there will be a drumming circle and kids can get their faces painted.
And still, there's more. You can win water-saving devices and 'fish' for prizes. There's a grand prize draw for scuba lesson tuition from Ocean Pacific Watersports.
There's even a free lunch for those who help clean up the shoreline.
World Rivers Day was created in 1980. In recent years, about 100,000 British Columbians have turned out to learn about water issues and promote river stewardship.
