I am writing about a theft that happened about two weeks ago. I am a paraplegic and was flying my remote-control airplane over at Singh Bowl. I had a mislaunch and the plane ended up down at the bottom of the hill where kids slide in the winter.
Now, I can get down there half the time but getting back up, even without something in my hands or lap is not going to happen. So I went back across the street to the trailer park to phone someone to help me go get it. In that time, someone came and picked it up and took it home to Westsyde.
How do I know it went there? Because a woman called my house from the phone number that I put inside along with a mention of the reward. First thing she asked me was how much is the reward?!
I explained to her nicely what had happened and I would give her gas money to bring it back to me the next day after work.
I figured she would be honest and realize the mistake (on both our parts) that was made and I would get my $200 plane back (that was a gift, like I could afford a plane like that).
I just want to “thank” the woman who, by the way, blocked her number so I could not go and pick it up. Again, thanks for the theft and thanks for keeping your word. The one thing that makes me feel free since I cannot run, or ride a bike. Yadda yadda yadda.
