For more than 50 years, Westsyde’s Centennial Park has been a focal point for that part of Kamloops.
On Saturday, the people who helped to create the park back in 1958 are being recognized at a plaque ceremony.
Officials from the City and Westsyde Community Development Society will gather at 2 p.m. to unveil a commemorative plaque and name the sports complex after Ralph Clearwaters, one of the park founders.
The park spans 26 acres and has been the site of many events and gatherings over the decades.
The unveiling is open to the public.
