Kamloops is out of the running for Ironman Canada, the World Triathlon Corporation announced on its website Friday.
The three finalists are Kelowna, Whistler and Huntsville, Ont. The bid process closed on Sept. 24.
Ironman will conduct visits to finalist communities and will announce the host in mid-October.
The event draws between 2,000 and 3,000 participants who run 42 kilometres, cycle 180 klilometres and swim 3.8 kilometres — all in one day. It was expected to pump $15 million in the local economy.
