Kamloops Community Volunteer Services is a non-profit charity supporting community volunteering.
Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers: Volunteers deliver meals between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers use their own vehicles and gas. A tax receipt for mileage is issued every November.
People in Motion: Volunteers will assist People in Motion members with bowling. This includes passing the members the bowling balls, pushing their wheelchairs, and assisting the members to get on and off a bus as well as interacting with the group. Volunteers should be able to oversee the activity and liaison with BowlerTime staff and the program co-ordinator and perform other duties as required.
Sahalo’ween Fall Festival: We need volunteers for our Fall Festival on Oct 5 and 6 at the Sahali Centre Mall. Volunteers will perform cash duties for selling pumpkins that will be donated to Kamloops Community Volunteer Services and the New Life Mission kitchen for Thanksgiving dinner. There will be some lifting, but if you are unable to, then assistance will be provided.
Literacy in Kamloops (Link): A volunteer tutor is needed to read one on one with the same two to three elementary aged children once a week for 30 minutes each during school hours for about 10 to 12 weeks. Training is provided in a three- hour free session. Training will be on Oct. 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Henry Grube Education Centre.
Volunteer Kamloops: Would you like to make a difference in someone’s life? We have a great opportunity to mentor individuals to deliver newspapers every Thursday morning. Contact co-ordinator Edith Farrell or call 250-372-8313 for information.
