Local artist Vaughn Butland will donate proceeds from an upcoming show and sale of his grassland paintings to the Grassland Conservation Council.
The paintings, both oil and watercolour, feature Lac Du Bois, Nicola Valley and Sun Peaks. Butland said the more than 40 paintings are designed to reveal the beauty and delicate ecology of the grasslands area.
The show takes place at St. Andrews on the Square starting Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. It continues Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Butland has been painting in and around Kamloops for more than 25 years. The Grassland Conservation Council is involved in the mapping and research of grassland areas, communities and ecosystems.
