The City’s request for parkade proposals netted seven submissions that covered all three categories being sought.
City real estate manager Dave Freeman said Wednesday the submissions were all local and fit for the categories of available land, available parking stalls and potential for a parkade partnership.
“We were very pleased with the response in that it covered all three categories we had interest in,” he said.
“There’s a wide variety of options. We’re going to explore the potential for all of them, then report to council and seek direction.”
While the details of the submissions are confidential, they are all being reviewed by the City’s parking committee. That report will then go to City council for a closed-door discussion of options and negotiations.
“As it involves land, it’ll be in a closed meeting,” he said.
Freeman said he expects the report to go to council this month.
