Concern is growing that a hunter missing in dense woods southeast of Vernon may be injured or unable to respond to searchers.
The 52-year-old man planned to spend only one day in the North Okanagan bush on Saturday but was reported missing on Sunday.
Since then, his truck has been found on a remote logging road, but an RCMP helicopter, three dog teams and eight search and rescue crews have not spotted any trace of him.
A Vernon search and rescue official said that efforts could be scaled back as early as Wednesday if no further signs of the Lake Country man are found. Crews from Kamloops search and rescue are also involved in the effort.
