Two free dementia workshops are being offered in Kamloops by the Alzheimer Society of B.C. this month.
Getting to Know Dementia, on Wednesday, Oct. 17, will cover everything from diagnosis of dementia and living with the disease to the programs and services available in the city.
The family caregiver series aims to offer coping strategies for family members who are caring for someone with dementia. Topics include understanding dementia, learning how to communicate with those living with dementia and navigating the health system. This workshop is Saturday Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pre-registration for both is required; call Tara Hildebrand at 250-377-8200.
