I am sending this to you after several discussions with local folk who have never heard about or seen a knee walker before, including some who work in health care.
A number of people wish they had known about them. If you need any further information please feel to call me.
A knee walker is ideal for anyone who has an injury or surgery to their foot or lower leg and cannot bear weight. Unlike crutches, they offer hands-free mobility in and out of the house. There are many models but mine has front-wheel steering and brakes.
The brakes can also be locked for stability when using the arms, for example in the kitchen to prepare food. I have also enjoyed walking in Riverside Park along the river in the fine September weather.
A foot surgeon in Vancouver told me about this walker. I could not find any outlet in Kamloops that even knew what they were, never mind supply one. There is an outlet in Coquitlam that sells and rents them, but I was able to get one delivered to my door from the U.S. more conveniently and less expensively.
