There we have another good reason to ban big truck traffic on Highway 5A. How many more truck crashes do we need? The lack of enforcement on that highway is crazy.
You very rarely see commercial vehicle inspectors on the route. The nice, “Your speed is . . .” signs along the road don’t help. I have followed trucks on that route and very rarely do they even slow down. One of these days we will see the big one, then everyone will sit up and take notice. Dodging the weigh scale with heavy loads that should not be on the route, trying to avoid extra maintenance costs and extra fuel costs for the sake of a few lives, is crazy. These guys should all wake up. Their kids and family also drive that road.
