Man assaulted in early-morning attack at service station

A man suffered an injury to his knee Friday morning when he was assaulted at the Salish Esso on Halston, Tk’emlups Rural RCMP said.

The victim pulled in behind a red Honda Accord at about 6 a.m., and was harassed and bumped by a man after he went into the store.

After the victim got back into his car, a woman got out of the Accord, slammed her hands on the hood of the victim's car, opened the car door and struck him on the temple. The victim pushed her away with his feet.

Meanwhile, the man who had been harassing the victim in the store got out of the Accord and tried to join in the attack. He was stopped by bystanders.

The victim went to hospital suffering from an injury to his knee, possibly a torn tendon.

Police have identified the woman attacker, but are still looking for the man.
