A head-on collision on West Victoria Street between two vehicles sent them spinning out of control and smashing into two others Monday afternoon.
The end result was one man taken to hospital with a serious head injury and two others transported to RIH with lesser wounds.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said Monday early reports indicated the collision occurred after 1 p.m. in the stretch of West Victoria between the New Life Mission and the Overlander Bridge.
The four-car pile-up closed the road to traffic going east and west for several hours. A collision analyst was called in to do a complete reconstructive survey of the crash site.
Coincidentally, police were doing a distracted-driver check in the same area.
