I’d like to clarify two points made in a recent article (Helicopter Set To Land At RIH, The Daily News, Oct. 5).
First, I am not a pilot, but have worked for many years in aviation management Second, the way my comments were paraphrased may have made it appear that I was diminishing the role that Interior Health played in the co-operative efforts by all stakeholders in getting the helicopter ambulance service running. This is certainly was not the case, as officials with IHA were very proactive participants in discussing options and resolving issues that arose in getting this complicated endeavour to its current status.
With the completion of the new heliport, IHA has clearly demonstrated its commitment to the helicopter air ambulance service.
