The Kamloops Global Awareness Network hosts its first Global Speakers Series installment on Wednesday.
The group has invited Lama Mugabo, the founder of a community development-planning firm in Kigali, Rwanda.
Mugabo will discuss the Rwanda genocide and various reconstruction efforts. His talk begins at 7 p.m. at Desert Gardens Community Centre, 540 Seymour St.
After the 30-40 minute presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session. There will also be an opportunity to learn about Mugabo’s connections to the Kamloops community and how residents can get involved in his projects.
The speaker series is free. There will be coffee, tea, and cookies provided. Doors open at 6:40pm.
