Kamloops firefighters are setting their fundraising sights even higher this year, hoping to raise $50,000 for two charities with their sizzling 2013 calendar.
There's an adults-only launch party Friday night at Ora Restaurant and the $5 entry fee will go toward the purchase of a $20 calendar.
The effort raised $32,000 in its first year, brought in $40,000 last year and aims to sell 2,500 of the 2013 calendars. Last year, all 2,000 copies sold out by December.
Funds raised will go to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation's intensive care unit and the B.C. Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund.
Tickets for tonight's event are available at the door.
Calendars are sold at the fire hall in Sahali and at various locations in the city; check out the website for a list of locations: http://www.kamloopsconventioncentre.ca/events/firefighter/
