    International students often stay

    As a faculty member at TRU who has assisted students obtain career jobs for the last 12 years, I would like to respond to Full Tuition For Foreign Students OK (The Daily News, Oct. 19).

    I will not debate whether or not the TRU receives sufficient money from the provincial government. What I will debate is the statement, “Once their studies are complete, they (international students) take those newly acquired skills and experiences back home.” This might have been the case in the past but more and more, it is not the case now.

    In Kamloops, international students I have taught have gone on to grad jobs with local employers. TRU international students contribute to Kamloops as grads as well.
