The TRU WolfPack soccer teams accomplished everything they wanted to on the final weekend of the Pacific Western Athletic Association regular season.
The WolfPack women (10-2-2) clinched first place in the conference, while TRU's men booked a ticket to the postseason. The provincial tournament will run next weekend in Squamish - the women's semifinals are scheduled for Friday, with the men's semis scheduled for Saturday.
The 'Pack women have been the class of the conference all season, and secured the top berth in the playoffs with a 1-0 victory over the Capilano Blues at Hillside Stadium on Saturday. On Sunday, TRU beat the Vancouver Island Mariners 3-2.
This means the WolfPack will face the conference's fourth seed, the Langara Falcons, in a semifinal. TRU is the defending provincial champion.
Blair MacKay scored her third goal of the season in the Saturday victory, and Emily Edmundson recorded her fifth solo shutout.
On Sunday, Marlee Rittinger, scored the WolfPack's first goal and set up Amanda Barrett on another. Barrett, a second-half substition, gave the WolfPack the lead in the 85th minute, converting a Bronwyn Crawford pass.
It was the final home match for WolfPack fifth-years Abbey and Chloe McAuley and MacKay. Abbey McAuley set up Rittinger's Sunday goal.
TRU's men (7-4-3) also did all they could, beating Capilano 2-1 on Saturday to clinch the third spot heading into the playoffs. On Sunday, the WolfPack tied 1-1 with the Mariners, who will be its semifinal opponent in Squamish.
Oriol Torres and Brandon Mendez scored for the WolfPack on Saturday.
On Sunday, Mendez drew a penalty kick and Peter Loncar converted it in the 57th minute.
The second-place Mariners (8-1-5) are the defending conference champions.
The WolfPack honoured Justin Smeaton, who is graduating, before the Sunday game. Smeaton still has a year of eligibility, but will be done classes in the spring.

TRU won the Thunderball men's volleyball tournament at UBC in Vancouver on Saturday.
The WolfPack won its two Friday matches, but lost in four sets (20-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-22) to the host Thunderbirds on Saturday afternoon. TRU still ended up in the final, where it defeated the T-Birds in five sets (25-22, 23-25. 25-19, 18-25, 15-11).
Jesse Bazergui had 11 kills and 13 digs in the earlier contest, with Stuart Richey also getting 12 kills. Daniel Eikeland Rod and Casey Knight each had 10 kills, and Spencer Reed dug 18 balls.
Brad Gunter lifted the WolfPack in the final, swatting 19 kills and adding 16 digs. Philip Ozari had 15 kills and three aces to go along with nine digs, and Colin Carson set 55 assists.
The WolfPack's Mohamed Abdel Reheim and Hardy Wooldridge were named tournament all-stars.

TRU's women's basketball team lost its final two games at its invitational tournament at the Tournament Capital Centre.
The weekend ended with a 94-57 loss to the Victoria Vikes on Sunday, leaving the WolfPack 1-2. Jorri Duxbury had 14 points, with Jen Ju scoring 11.
On Saturday, the WolfPack lost 62-60 to the Saskatchewan Huskies, who scored the winning points with 3.1 seconds remaining.
Ju had 23 points in the loss. Diane Schuetze added 17 points and Rebeca Fernandez grabbed nine rebounds.

The WolfPack men's basketball team lost 81-76 in overtime to the NAIA's Montana State-Northern Skylites in an exhibition game at the TCC on Saturday.
Four WolfPack players hit double-digits in points - Brett Rouault (21), Kevin Pribilsky (17) and D.J. Oates (10), along with Wil Ondrik, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds.

TRU went 0-4 at the Best of the West women's volleyball tournament in Langley and Vancouver.
The WolfPack opened with a three-set (25-12, 25-14, 25-11) loss to the co-host Trinity Western Spartans on Friday. Katarina Osadchuk had five kills for TRU.
On Saturday, the WolfPack was swept by the co-host Thunderbirds (25-13, 25-15, 25-13), the UBC-Okanagan Heat (25-14, 25-16, 25-9) and the Regina Cougars (25-16, 25-13, 25-12).

Castlegar wasn't nice to the WolfPack, which dropped a pair of B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League games against the host Selkirk Saints.
The Saints (5-0) beat TRU 11-0 on Friday and 8-1 on Saturday. The WolfPack (2-2) is to play host to Trinity Western on Saturday, 8 p.m., at Memorial Arena.
Colten De Frias had the WolfPack's lone goal of the weekend, in the second period Saturday. Adrien Hervillard stopped 43 shots on Saturday, after Riley Wall and Shane Mainprize combined to make 30 saves on Friday.

Anica Arduini was fourth in women's singles as the WolfPack played host to the first tournament of the Pacific Western badminton season.
Lacey Banman was sixth in singles, and teamed with Rita Ma to take sixth in the women's doubles. Alyssa Burton and Lyndsey Nabata were 10th in women's doubles.
Joey Chu was fifth in men's singles, while William Chung was 10th. Chu teamed with Noah Woods to finish seventh in doubles, while Johnny Nguyen and Le Yu were ninth.
Arduini and Woods were seventh in the mixed doubles, ahead of 10th-place Patrick Lam and Trina Drummond.
