New turning lanes for north and south traffic on Highway 97 at Cache Creek’s Bonaparte frontage road are being built this fall.
The province awarded the $966,000 contact for the work to Dawson Construction Ltd. The work is already underway and will be finished by the end of the month.
The improvement is a safety upgrade to allow drivers to better access the Bonaparte reserve north of Cache Creek.
It’s part of a series of safety improvements being made to the Cariboo Connector corridor. The provincial government has allocated $200 million over the next five years for the second phase of the Cariboo Connector as part of its Pacific Gateway Transportation Strategy.
