Kamloops Blazers forwards JC Lipon and Colin Smith have been selected to play for Team WHL in the Subway Super Series next month.
Lipon, 19, leads the WHL with 13 goals and 32 points in 13 games. Smith, also 19, is second in points (28) and first in assists (19) in the WHL.
The Super Series games, pitting Team WHL against a Russian team, are scheduled for Nov. 14 in Vancouver and Nov. 15 in Victoria. Smith and Lipon will take part in the second of the two games.
Because that game will be played on a Thursday, neither Lipon nor Smith is expected to miss any of the Blazers’ regularly scheduled games.
