    Playing in the band

There will be local content in the Cadet band that is scheduled to perform at halftime of Saturday’s CFL game in Vancouver as the B.C. Lions close out the regular-season portion of their schedule against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Game time at BC Place Stadium is 7 p.m.

Four members of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets Corps 137 Kamloops, along with one from 347 Avenger in Ashcroft, will be part of the mass Cadet band.

The five cadets — Brayden Spijksma, Erika Spijksma, Adrianna Agnew, Brandon Pomeroy and Cody Lambert — along with officers SLt Mike Wisla and NCdt Stephanie Wisla, will be part of the halftime show in the Lions’ annual tribute to the veterans who have served in the Canadian Forces.

The Kamloops and Ashcroft Cadets will be part of a mass band led by the Naden Band of the Canadian Navy, as well as Army, Air, and Sea Cadets from across the province.
