    Premier swings through region

Premier Christy Clark is in Kamloops Friday night to roast out-going MLA Kevin Krueger, and is meeting with southern Asians and seniors Saturday morning before moving on.

Clark’s Interior trip starts today with a trip up the North Thompson to Clearwater, where she will cut the ribbon on Evergreen Acres Senior Citizens Housing Society, an affordable housing development for seniors and people with disabilities.

From there, she comes to Kamloops to attend Krueger’s political retirement dinner. While the long-time Kamloops politician isn’t packing it in until the spring election, he’s being roasted early because the election campaign will be too busy.

On Saturday, Clark is scheduled to be at the Spice Restaurant where she’ll meet and greet with some of the city’s southeast Asian community. Then she heads to the seniors’ drop-in centre in Brocklehurst.

That ends her Kamloops leg of her visit. From there, she heads to Salmon Arm.
