Willing to camp out in order to save a few bucks on your taxes? How about taking care of the City’s flower boxes and pocketing the money instead of the municipality paying for it?

That’s the question Vancouver-based Force Four Entertainment is asking Kamloops residents as the production company seeks a locale for an upcoming reality TV series.

“Let’s see how adventurous you can be,” Nicole Lawson, Force Four’s director of development, said during a phone interview Friday.

Force Four has contacted Mayor Peter Milobar and City councillors about the possibility of the Kamloops getting behind the show.

The show will explore the City’s costs of services and see how much people can put back in their pockets if they took over the services themselves, said Lawson.

Although the concept sounds heavy in principle, the show’s tone will be light and have an element of fun and adventure, she said. The ultimate goal is for the featured residents to realize how they can make life better for themselves and their neighbours.

Force Four has reached out to communities from coast to coast and is almost ready to start a selection process. Lawson hopes 20 to 25 residents from Kamloops will be up for the challenge.

“I would love it if we came to Kamloops,” she said, adding the company has been in touch with Kelowna’s mayor and council.

“As a city we try to step up to any opportunity like this and see what happens,” said Milobar.

Force Four has produced a variety of programs including the CBC show Village on a Diet and City TV’s The Bachelor Canada.
