Reader proud of Canadian Armed Forces

I have a very hard time reading the trash written in The Daily News, especially so close to Remembrance Day.
God help us if anyone in Canada takes pride in our heroes who fought to keep our country free. Anyone that thinks the War of 1812 makes us war mongers is pretty sad.

Without our great fighting men and women keeping our country free, David Charbonneau (Oct. 24 column: War of 1812 Does Not Make Us Warriors) and David T. Ruddel (Nov. 9 letter: Federal Government’s Campaign to Brand Canada Warriors Misplaced), you wouldn’t have the freedom to make such statements.

Yes, our men and women are warriors and have always put their lives in harms way to keep Canada safe for all. Maybe if people would stand up and take notice of all our great veterans, they would be better looked after by our government.

Nobody in their right mind wants war, but God help us the day our great warriors don’t protect us. I, for one, am very proud of the Canadian Armed Forces. Thank you and God bless them all.
