    McNeil, Bojesen in chase

Chris McNeil and Martin Bojesen, both of Kamloops, were second and third, respectively, in the Master Men 30-39 division of the Daryl-Evans Canadian Cyclo-Cross championships in Surrey on Saturday.

Races were run in conditions that included cold rain and strong, cold winds.

McNeil and Bojesen finished behind Aroussene Laflame of St-Augustin-De-Desmaures, Que.

Mical Dyck of Victoria won the women’s elite title. Olympian Catharine Pendrel of Kamloops didn’t place in the top three.

In the elite men’s division, victory went to Geoff Kabush of Courtenay, another Olympian. Chris Sheppard, who is from Kamloops but now races out of Bend, Ore. was the two-time defending champion but this time placed second.
