Holiday train schedules stop for Kamloops and Chase

Get those perishable foods ready — the CP Holiday Train is coming to town.

This year’s train stops on the tracks on the north side of the Interior Savings Centre on Lorne Street on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 5 p.m. The show starts half an hour later.

This year’s lineup includes Doc Walker and Miss Emily.

Doc Walker is a Juno Award winning country trio from Portage La Prairie, Man. The band is hopping onto the train in Whitemouth, Man., for the western end of the tour.

Making the entire cross-Canada trip is Kingston, Ont., singer Miss Emily. She has been compared to Adele and has performed with The Tragically Hip, Sam Roberts and The Trews.

The train hauls 14 brightly lit cars across the country to make stops in communities where donations are collected for local food banks. It’s estimated the train has raised almost $6.4 million in cash and 2.6 million pounds of food for food banks across North America.

There’s a U.S. Holiday Train as well as the Canadian one.

You can follow the train on Facebook or on Twitter @CPHolidaytrain.
