Bear it all for Christmas charity at Blazers game

The tossing teddies come out Saturday night as the Kamloops Blazers hold their annual Teddy Bear Night for Christmas Amalgamated.

The Blazers face off against the Moose Jaw Warriors on the ice at Interior Savings Centre, but their hearts will be warm for charity.

The event, sponsored by Zimmer Autosport, is a 19-year tradition that has spread throughout the Canadian Hockey League.

The teddies don't have to be alone in being tossed on the ice at the Blazers' first goal. Scarves, tuques and gloves will also be accepted for those in need.

To make the teddy toss a success, the team is urging as many people as possible to attend. The ISC can hold 5,464. If that number is reached, $1 from each ticket sold goes to Christmas Amalgamated. So far, there are 3,381 tickets sold.

A similar promotion for breast cancer earlier this season netted $5,508 for that charity.

Tickets can be bought from the box office at 828-3330 or online at http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/11004904C7852207?artistid=835710&;majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=9.
