Eight arrested for drug trafficking in Shuswap area

Six men and two women were arrested for drug trafficking during a co-ordinated police effort on Sunday at Lee Creek, Scotch Creek and Chase.

Police seized illegal drugs, including crack cocaine, guns and cash.

RCMP officers from Chase and Salmon Arm detachments, South East District general investigation section and the Kamloops police dog service executed three search warrants.

The people arrested are known to police and the residences represented a large part of the drug trade in the area, police said.

Charges will be recommended to Crown counsel.
