    Colourful housing plentiful back East

What I see in the photo accompanying the letter (Kamloops Needs More Painted Ladies, The Daily News, Nov. 19), I would call faded, jaded Ladies of the same kind of city (San Francisco).

If you want to use examples, try using something from our own country. I have never seen anything south of the border so far that even comes close to the colours of our cousins in the east. Now, there is where you will see colours.

Maritime cities and towns have some of the liveliest painted (houses), oops “ladies,” I have ever seen.

In some places, the houses rival Mother Nature’s painting of the trees in autumn.

I also hope that your house looks as colourful as you would have others. Maybe you should drive over to our side of town (Brocklehurst) and see some of the cheerfully coloured Ladies over here.

Anyway, I like the fact that you are up for brightening our city. It is not bad, but could stand with some painting outside the lines in some places.

Please remember to look inside our own borders for examples. We have as good as or better than anything down south.
