WolfPack hockey team picks up former players

The TRU WolfPack has added two players for the second half of the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.

The WolfPack announced Thursday that former players Duncan Schulz and Josh McDonald, both forwards, will join the team in January. TRU’s next game is scheduled for Jan. 5, against Simon Fraser in Burnaby.

Schulz and McDonald played for the WolfPack in 2011-12, but both dropped out before this season.

The WolfPack is 4-6-0-1 and tied for fourth in the six-team conference.

TRU’s volleyball and basketball teams will be holding alumni celebrations on Jan. 12 and Jan. 19.

It’s the WolfPack’s first attempt at alumni nights. The Jan. 12 night will feature TRU’s men’s and women’s basketball teams playing the Calgary Dinos. The Jan. 19 event will have the WolfPack’s volleyball squads playing host to the UBC Thunderbirds.

The university is inviting former TRU, UCC or Cariboo College players, along with former coaches, trainers and managers. To be eligible, individuals must have been with a TRU, UCC or Cariboo College team for at least one full season.

    Families are invited as well.
