Public asked to inquire about impact on lab services

Citing an ongoing job action by health professionals, the Interior Health Authority asks anyone in need of lab services on Monday to check in before paying a visit.

A press release from the IHA said labs will operate at essential service levels, with staff reduced and delays expected. This might result in outpatients with non-urgent lab requests asked to return at a later date.

There will be no impact on services for chemotherapy, dialysis or transplant patients. Urgent lab tests and pre-surgical screening for surgeries on Monday and Tuesday will take place.

Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to phone 250-231-4514.
